Restoring teeth and replacing
missing teeth:
- Inlays and Onlays
- Crowns
- Bridges
- Dentures
- Implants
Inlays
and Onlays are usually and traditionally laboratory processed restorations
which are more durable than standard fillings.
Crowns
are usually considered versus large fillings or after root canal
treatments to protect teeth from fracturing. That is because teeth commonly fracture. Not all teeth with large restoration or root canal therapy require crown treatment, but only the one with higher risk for fracture.
Bridge
is one option to replace missing teeth. A bridge is made from a special arrangement of crowns. Bridges depend on the quality and configuration of existing teeth to support the missing space. Figure on
the right is an example of a bridge.
