Root Canals and Extraction

Severe toothache of dental nature are commonly treated with:
- Root canal therapy
- Extraction

Root Canal Therapy is a process of cleaning and sealing the canals of teeth. This therapy is often required when decay, infection, fracture or undermined tooth structure reached the pulp, or when there is a need to extending tooth support for crown or bridge via post-core.

Extractions is the removal of teeth. Extraction is often indicated when tooth is severely undermined, have fractured or decayed at unfavorable location, have severe periodontal disease, have severe teeth crowding, or fail to respond to root canal therapy.

Not all severe toothache needs root canal or extraction. Unpleasant sensitivity ranging from mild to moderate may be perceived as severe and may or may not be of dental in origin.
